Teacher Preparation: The Impact of Coaching
For our April meeting we are thrilled to have CQ Wilder from Washington DC, America joining us. She is the regional director for Teach For America, where she manages hundreds of public, private, and charter school teachers in the DMV area (DC, Maryland, and Virginia). She will be talking about teacher coaching, peer mentoring, and how vital it is for successful practice:
"All teachers are leaders, but are they receiving enough leadership development? Moreover once they have this development, are they able to showcase it in the classroom and in other areas? The role that leadership development has in a teacher's life is critical, and this development is just as important as instructional coaching and other concepts. Therefore, this presentation will focus on the use of executive coaching to foster leadership development amongst teachers."
The meeting will be held at our regular venue, with the speaker joining us online. We will also send a Zoom link to our chapter members for those who are unable to make it to the venue but would like to listen to the presentation.
